Teachers in the senior end of the school recently took part in 2 days training in the “Friends for Life” programme. This is an evidence-based intervention programme for children that teaches cognitive behavioural skills and behavioural skills to reduce anxiety and promote emotional resilience. The World Health Organisation cites “Friends for Life” as the only evidence based programme for anxiety in children that is effective at all levels of intervention. 4th, 5th and 6th Classes are currently having lessons on this programme as part of our SPHE curriculum.
